A Legal Aid Queensland (LAQ) webinar next week will aim to help practitioners support vulnerable clients.
Therapeutic pathways within the criminal courts will explain the role the Queensland Drug and Alcohol Court (QDAC) and Court Link programs.
The one-hour webinar on Wednesday will discuss the holistic support and treatment programs which can help vulnerable offenders improve their lives and reduce their risk of reoffending.
LAQ Principal Lawyers Penny Williams and Laura Rouse will discuss program benefits and how Legal Aid Queensland helps Court Link participants and people under QDAC treatment orders.
This session will cover:
• what the programs involve, where they are available and how long they run;
• eligibility criteria and the referral process;
• how to support clients taking part in the programs; and
• the role different organisations play at QDAC and in the Court Link program and how your agency can be involved.
