Four CLCs awarded education grants

Four Community Legal Centres have been awarded Legal Aid funding to provide innovative community education projects.

The 2024 Community Legal Education (CLE) Collaboration Fund grant recipients are:

  • LawRight Queensland: to produce a self-help kit for people navigating Blue Card matters via QCAT;
  • HUB Community Legal: to create an illustrated, culturally appropriate guide for parents involved in child protection cases and their supporters;
  • YFS: to partner with First Nations elders groups in Logan, Beaudesert, and the Scenic Rim to deliver customised, culturally appropriate legal information sessions to the community; and
  • Basic Rights Queensland: to develop videos and factsheets to help people understand discrimination rights and laws, empowering them to advocate for themselves and others.

The fund offers grants to community legal sector groups to deliver CLE projects that help vulnerable people understand their legal rights. It is funded by the Department of Justice and Attorney-General.
