Portal access to end for finalised files

Lawyers’ access to family law files on the Commonwealth Courts Portal is to end 60 days after all applications on the file are finalised.

This change will take effect on Saturday. Legal practitioners are advised to ensure they download copies of documents from finalised files well in advance of the end of the 60-day period.

If a lawyer requires access to documents after that period, a request will be considered as a non-party request to inspect a court file.

This change will not affect parties to a proceeding, who will continue to have access to their file through the portal.
