Accredited Specialists were dedicated to making a difference, outgoing Queensland Law Society President Genevieve Dee said at the recent Specialist Accreditation Christmas Breakfast.
In her closing address at Brisbane’s City Hall on 11 December, Genevieve said she had been reflecting on what drew her to the profession.
“Those of us here today all play a part in making a difference in the legal landscape in Queensland and the communities that we serve,” she said.
“While the law provides the framework for justice, it is our human connections, our collegiality, that create the rich tapestry that is necessary for a strong, supportive and ethical profession.
“When we work together with empathy and mutual respect, we strengthen the quality of our work and safeguard the well-being of those who serve the law.
“It’s been the honour of my career to serve as President of the Society and I take this opportunity to thank the members for giving me a great privilege and allowing me to serve the profession in this role and for the warm welcome I’ve received across many events throughout this great state.
“Thank you all for joining us this morning to recognise the achievements of our newly Accredited Specialists.”
