• have 1-3 years’ experience in family law (property and financial settlements, parenting and domestic violence matters) with enthusiasm to further expand their knowledge and skills;
• have good organisational skills with attention to detail;
• be proactive and reliable;
• be developing strong advocacy and negotiating skills;
• be an excellent communicator with good interpersonal skills You will be running your own family law files with the support and mentoring of our directors and with the assistance of our friendly, motivated team.

Development Tribunal Referee

Expressions of interest are sought for appointment as a referee for the Development Tribunals. Established under the Planning Act 2016, the tribunals hear a range of building and planning related matters. We need people with legal skills and experience (environment, infrastructure and planning), as well as people with architecture, building, engineering, fire safety, planning, plumbing and drainage, or pool safety expertise. Referees are paid according to government procedures for part-time chairs and members of Queensland Government bodies, when appointed to a tribunal to consider a specific appeal.

We are seeking an Unrestricted Lawyer & Senior Lawyer to join our multidisciplinary team of lawyers and social workers, providing clients with holistic and integrated legal support. The role includes: 1. Family Law casework and trial work 2. Domestic and Family Violence case work and representation at hearings 3. Being rostered on as family law duty lawyer at the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, including court appearances 4. Representation at Family Dispute Resolution conferences 5. Being rostered on as DFV duty lawyer for respondents at the Brisbane Magistrates Court, following accreditation as a domestic and family violence duty lawyer This is an outstanding opportunity for a family lawyer who is looking to develop their advocacy skills and broaden their expertise. The position will be particularly rewarding for candidates considering a future career at the Bar or aspiring to practise as an Independent Children’s Lawyer.
