November Admission Ceremony extended

The Chief Justice has announced that the Admission Ceremony scheduled for Monday 23 November in Brisbane has been extended by one day to include Tuesday 24 November.

This has been done to accommodate the large number of applicants seeking admission in the November ceremony.

Applicants are advised that their application may be heard on either 23 or 24 November and should make arrangements with a mover that has availability across these two days. Session times may not be finalised until Friday 20 November, subject to the Legal Practitioners Admissions Board recommendations.

The registry cannot accommodate requests for a specific day unless exceptional circumstances apply. Any such request must be made in writing for consideration by the Chief Justice no later than 4.30pm on Monday 16 November by emailing admissions@justice.qld.gov.au.

Four guests per applicant will be permitted to attend each session (this number does not include your mover). Except for the increase in guest limit, applicants are reminded that Supreme Court Practice Direction 9 of 2020 (Amended) – ‘Admissions to the Legal Profession’, published on 8 June 2020 remains in effect.
