Childrens Court Practice Direction 6 of 2020–amended COVID-19 court arrangements

The Chief Magistrate has amended Childrens Court Practice Direction 6 of 2020.

The amendments are:

• Paragraph 4–to include “(a) All first appearances at Brisbane Arrest Courts (Roma Street), the Brisbane Childrens Court (BMC), Caboolture, Ipswich, Pine Rivers, Richlands, Southport and all hearings are to be in person.”
• Paragraph 8–delete (b) i.e. “Legal Representatives: b) may appear in person but are encouraged to appear by telephone of video conference unless ordered by a Magistrate to appear in person.”
