Queensland Law Society has welcomed yesterday’s announcement that Senator Michaelia Cash will be Australia’s next federal Attorney-General.

Senator Cash is a Western Australian solicitor with degrees from Curtin University, the University of London and a diploma of legal practice from the University of Western Australia. Prior to entering politics, Senator Cash worked at law firm Freehills in its employment and industrial relations practice.

Senator Cash is the second woman to hold the office of Attorney-General of Australia. Nicola Roxon was the first, from December 2011 to February 2013.
