With the rush of Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales imminent, we thought it would be fun to share some of the items the QLS team have on their wish list to buy in the upcoming sales.
But first, let’s look into the history of Black Friday and some fun statistics!
Did you know, ‘Black Friday’ is a colloquial term for the Friday following Thanksgiving in the United States? The sales season began when many stores in the US offered discounted prices and often opened very early to allow for shoppers to recover from their stocks getting used up when all the family was home.
Over the years and as e-commerce grew, Black Friday sales moved to online and went global! Now it’s an annual and globally recognised sale that many use as an opportunity to get all of their Christmas shopping sorted and maybe even check off some items from a personal wish list.
Now for the stats! Are you sitting for this?
Finder’s recent survey reveals that 35% – equivalent to 6.8 million Australians – plan on shopping this Black Friday and Cyber Monday with the average shopper expected to fork out an average of $394 per checkout. Interestingly, clothing and shoes are pegged to be the most popular category consumers will be shopping in this year! (If only they got access to the QLS Black Friday sale through member benefits – we hear some fancy shoe brands are heavily discounting their stock, just for QLS members!)

“Coffee machine or the QLS solicitor advocate course! Ideally both!”
Matt’s a bit of a prolific coffee drinker in the QLS office and the Solicitor Advocacy Course, while not included in the sale, is a great course to check out.
Amy and Emma (Events)
Ok, so here’s how this conversation went down!
“Me: Hey team, what’s on your Black Friday sale wish list this year?
Emma: Does Eden’s (also a QLS team member) Marc Jacob’s bag count?
Me: No Emma!
Amy: Gosh – I need a new personal laptop! Preferably a Dell one!
Emma: Anything wireless! Literally, anything wireless. ;)”
So to conclude, anything wireless and a new laptop from the events team. Luckily enough, Dell are offering an awesome discount to QLS members through Member Benefits (up to 40% off) so I think they’re going to get their wish!

“Honestly, it’s a Dyson Vacuum, dog hair from a Labrador is hard to pick up from the carpets. I was actually having a look at these this morning when I got up!”

“I’ve been hanging out to do the ‘Advising clients on small business sales’ on-demand program! It’s a super practical session that educates on the purchase or sale of a business. Oh, and makeup!” – Sharon
