Sunshine Coast Regional Council has announced a new round of senior appointments within its in-house legal team.
Michelle Leong and Mitchell Birks have been appointed as senior solicitors.
Michelle Leong
Michelle will lead the council’s property and commercial team. She has practised in commercial property law for more than 20 years and has a diverse range of property experience, with a particular focus on complex leasing transactions, renewables and agribusiness transactions. Michelle has also worked as a solicitor in New South Wales, England and Ireland.
Mitchell Birks
Mitchell commenced work with the council in 2018 and will carry out his new role within the dispute resolution and advisory team. In this capacity, he will provide oversight to the dispute resolution and advisory functions of the council, including planning and environment appeals and applications involving the council. Mitchell has also practised as a solicitor in Hong Kong.
