The Gold Coast’s My Community Legal is calling for expressions of interest from lawyers practising in civil, criminal, family law and domestic violence for its pro bono service.
The community legal centre is seeking practitioners with a current practising certificate and a desire to assist disadvantaged community members to join its team.
My Community Legal assists members of the Gold Coast community through its main centre at Robina and its outreach centre at Southport. Both require volunteers who are interested in providing legal advice at both or either of the centres, assisting clients on Tuesday (mornings and evenings) and Thursday evenings.
With volunteer lawyers able to nominate their frequency of attendance, there is no expectation they attend weekly. While the service welcomes more frequent participation, lawyers can volunteer for as little as one night per month.
