Chief Justice Helen Bowskill has issued a Notice to the Profession which took effect from 3 April.
Her Honour will no longer issue practice directions for a change of name and/or address of a solicitor or solicitor’s firm. Instead, notices of change of address for service are to be filed electronically via email in accordance with the Principal Registrar (Supreme and District Courts) Approval 1 of 2020.
A similar Notice to the Profession was issued by District Court Chief Judge Brian Devereaux SC on 5 April, with immediate effect.
Change of contact details and address for service may be filed by email, in accordance with the Principal Registrar (Supreme and District Courts) Approval 1 of 2020 (updated on 28 March 2023).
The Chief Judge also repealed Practice Direction No.4 of 2010.
