Career Moves: Moray & Agnew

Moray & Agnew Lawyers has announced 17 senior promotions this month including two in Queensland.

Promoted to Special Counsel are Brisbane lawyer Gary King (Public Liability Insurance) and Josh McDiarmid (Construction & Projects) in Cairns.


Gary King

Gary is a skilled general liability insurance lawyer who specialises in the infrastructure, construction and mining sectors.

He has in-depth experience across all applicable legislative regimes in Queensland and defends matters at every stage of the claims process, including through to settlement conferences, at mediations, and at trial.

Josh McDiarmid

Having worked predominantly in dispute resolution throughout his career, Josh has represented civil contractors, head contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and local governments in many capacities including negotiating contracts, disputes including under the Building Industry Fairness (Security of Payment) Act 2017 (Qld) (formerly Building and Construction Industry Payments Act 2004 (Qld) and the Subcontractors’ Charges Act 1974 (Qld)).

He also assists clients in dealings with the Queensland Building and Construction Commission including complaints about defective building work or incomplete work and claims made under the Home Warranty Insurance Scheme.
