Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner Katie Kiss is conducting a national listening tour to meet directly with First Nations communities to hear their perspectives on key social justice issues.
This extensive consultation will form the basis of a discussion paper, contributing to the Social Justice Report, and shape the next steps in the collective efforts toward reconciliation and equality.
Commissioner Kiss will share her agenda for ensuring First Nations’ voices are heard and their rights are respected during the free webinar on 26 February from 12pm-1.30pm.
Following the Commissioner’s address, Kate Russell, CEO of Supply Nation, will lead a discussion on how truth-telling recognises past and current injustices to inform a better future for our nation; steps to promote and protect the rights of First Nations Peoples; solutions to support and empower First Nations communities; and centring First Nations voices to ensure these perspectives are the foundation for true reconciliation.
The guest panel includes Shelley Cable, Head of First Nations Strategy, Australia at ANZ; and Travis Lovett, Deputy Chair and Commissioner of the Yoorrook Justice Commission.
