“Don’t panic but be prepared” advises Simon LaBlack, Legal Practitioner Director at LaBlack Lawyers and presenter at Queensland Law Society Seller Disclosure Roadshow events.
A QLS Accredited Specialist in Property Law, Simon presented at yesterday’s Toowoomba event and last week’s Gold Coast presentation where more than 100 legal professionals attended.

Simon and QLS Legal Policy Manager Wendy Devine addressed more than 70 people at yesterday’s event in Toowoomba.
Simon said it was an important presentation for practitioners and support staff to attend.
“Don’t panic but Seller Disclosure commences in around 11 weeks’ time. There is no time to lose,” Simon said.
“To put that in perspective, a seller listing a property with a real estate agent today under a typical 90-day engagement may well sell their property under the new Seller Disclosure Scheme. The time to be prepared is now.”
Simon said the events would give attendees “a real head-start” in the lead-up to the 1 August changes.
“The session covers all key aspects of the new Seller Disclosure obligations in the Property Law Act 2023 and will give attendees a real head start in the lead in to 1 August 2025,” he said.
“The session has been carefully curated to address both the legal and practical framework of Seller Disclosure, as well as to address the technical and complex questions that have come to QLS’s attention to date.
“The session also provides background and context documentation that will serve as a fantastic learning and training resource for practitioners working towards commencement of Seller Disclosure.”
Wendy said once registered, participants would be given an option to submit questions and feedback.
“These are very important as we can prepare FAQs and extra materials over coming weeks,” Wendy said.
“This feedback can help us determine what further training and resources people may want.”
Future events will be held on the Sunshine Coast (Tuesday, 20 May), Brisbane + livestream (Friday, 23 May) and Mackay (Tuesday, 27 May).
Registrations are open for these events.
Queensland Law Society President’s Medal winner Professor Sharon Christensen will be part of the Seller Disclosure Roadshow team at the Brisbane event.
These sessions are open to members, non-members, and support staff from across Queensland. A light lunch and refreshments are provided.
Roadshow participation, in-person or livestream, is worth two CPD points.
