Queensland-based commercial law firm Mullins has launched a family law practice.

It will be led by Pierce Carstensen, who joins Mullins from McInnes Wilson Lawyers, where he founded and led its family law team for over a decade.

Known for his practical, outcomes-focused approach, Pierce specialises in complex property settlements, parenting matters and financial agreements, working closely with clients and their broader advisory teams.

“I’m excited to join Mullins at a time of growth and momentum and to build a Family Law offering that puts the client’s desired outcome at the centre of everything we do,” Pierce said.

The firm has also welcomed Justin McInally as a Partner in its property team. Justin brings more than 20 years of experience in major acquisitions, leasing, and large-scale development projects. His expertise aligns with Queensland’s infrastructure boom and emerging sectors such as build-to-rent.

Managing Partner Sam McIvor said the appointments reflected Mullins’ commitment to meeting the evolving needs of its clients and the state.

“We’re focused on supporting our clients by acquiring the best legal talent in order to support their evolving needs and to assist them navigate the increasingly complex legal landscape.”
