Caiti asked Queensland Law Society CEO Matt Dunn to move her admission as he was also the person she credited with giving her the first opportunity of her legal career.

“I had the privilege of working with Matt when I was a law clerk in the QLS policy team whilst I was completing my law degree,” she said.

“I’m very grateful for the invaluable guidance and support he and the rest of the policy team offered me throughout my time at QLS and beyond which has been instrumental in helping me achieve this milestone.”

Matt said it was great to see people who had come up through QLS being admitted and congratulated everyone involved, adding that it was “always great to see growth across the profession”.

“It’s a really great thing to see good people succeeding and doing well,” he said.

“Part of what QLS stands for is to support both the profession of today and the profession of tomorrow.”

Emma asked MinterEllison’s Insurance and Corporate Risk Partner Penelope Eden to move her admission, after working in Penelope’s team as a research clerk.

“Penny has been a great role model in demonstrating how to develop as a lawyer and businessperson in a well-rounded way,” she said.

Following her admission, Emma plans to continue in the graduate program at MinterEllison and explore different areas of law.

“I’m also excited to keep meeting and working with new people across the profession, especially as I’m realising how connected the legal community in Brisbane really is,” she said.

Emma added that she found the Honourable Chief Justice Helen Bowskill’s speech particularly powerful.

“She spoke about the value of each applicant’s unique experiences and diversity in the legal profession and encouraged us to keep nourishing our minds as we progress in our careers,” Emma said.
