The Supreme Court of Queensland Rules Committee, established under s 89 of the Supreme Court Queensland Act 1991, intends to establish a working group to review the current Criminal Practice Rules 1999.
QLS has been invited to nominate two members to join the working group, alongside judicial members from all Court jurisdictions and members from other key stakeholder groups, to consider the current rules and areas which may benefit from revision.
It is expected the working group will meet initially in early 2026 with the project expected to run over six months.
Practitioners interested in joining the working group are invited to submit an expression of interest outlining their relevant skills and experience for consideration by QLS. An EOI may be submitted here.
The closing date for all EOIs is Monday 19 January 2026.
