Dentons has bolstered its national dispute resolution practice with the appointment of Partner Ryan Cable.
Based in Brisbane, Mr Cable is an experienced disputes lawyer specialising in arbitration and commercial litigation, particularly in the oil and gas, mining, energy, renewables, and resources sectors, as well as in connection with breaches of contract, financing, and joint venture disputes.
Dentons’ Australia Chair and Australasia Region CEO Amber Warren said Mr Cable’s appointment added to the existing dispute resolution capabilities in the Brisbane market “and marks another step in our commitment to strengthening our national capability”.
“Our clients in Queensland and beyond will greatly benefit from Ryan’s presence in our firm,” she said.
Dentons Partner and Head of Dispute Resolution in Australia John Dalzell said he was delighted to welcome an arbitration and commercial litigation specialist of Ryan’s calibre to the team.
“Ryan’s breadth of experience, as well as his commercial and rational approach to the resolution of complex disputes will be a great asset to our clients,” he said.
Mr Cable said he was excited to have joined Dentons and to help contribute to the growth of the firm’s disputes practice nationally.
“I look forward to connecting with colleagues across the Australian and global network of Dentons and bringing to bear my arbitration and dispute resolution experience for our clients,” he said.
Mr Cable has been recognised for his experience in a range of directories, including Lexology Index (2025 and 2026 – Future Arbitration Leader – Non-Partner), Doyles Guide (2023, 2024, 2025 – Leading Arbitration Lawyer, Australia) and Legal 500 UK (2022 and 2023, Recommended Lawyer for International Arbitration and Recommended Lawyer for Commercial Litigation).
