Queensland Law Society has unveiled a new attraction for this year’s annual Symposium, with Memberland – a hub where delegates can explore member benefits and support services – set to debut at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The launch comes as QLS continues to focus on expanding the support it offers to Queensland’s 14,000 members, many of whom attend the premier education and networking event each year.
This week’s Symposium is expected to draw hundreds of practitioners from across the state for professional development sessions, keynote presentations and sector-wide discussions.
Memberland has been designed as a central meeting point for delegates, giving attendees the opportunity to explore the full suite of services and benefits that come with QLS membership.
QLS Director of Membership and Growth Kerrie Green said the new space would act as a hub for practitioners wanting direct access to QLS teams and resources.
“It’s a place where you can explore the full range of member benefits, learn how to get involved in QLS initiatives, and connect directly with our teams,” she said.
Visitors will be able to speak with QLS specialists, take part in interactive activities and pick up giveaways throughout the event.
“Whether you’re already involved or just curious, this is the perfect place to connect, ask questions, and learn more about how we support you at every stage of your career,” Ms Green said.
Delegates will be able to:
- speak directly with specialist QLS teams;
- access information on professional development pathways;
- learn more about QLS ethics and practice support services;
- find out how you can be involved in QLS policy and advocacy;
- explore accreditation options;
- complete membership applications on site.
Teams from Specialist Accreditation, the Practice Management Course, the Ethics Centre, Advocacy and Policy, Records and Membership will all be available to provide information and guidance.
Ms Green said Memberland would also cater to Symposium guests who were not yet members.
“Even if you’re not a member yet, Memberland is the perfect place to start,” Ms Green said. “Our staff can walk you through the online application and help you understand how QLS can support your practice from day one.”
Memberland will operate across the one-day Symposium, with organisers expecting steady interest as delegates move between sessions.
