Annual indexation of Qld Ordinary Time Earnings under way

Each year workers’ compensation entitlements are indexed in accordance with Queensland Ordinary Time Earnings (QOTE) to ensure the relative value of entitlement amounts over time.

QOTE for a financial year is the amount of Queensland full-time adult’s ordinary time earnings declared by the Australian Statistician in the original series of the publication Average Weekly Earnings, Australia most recently published before the start of the financial year.

QOTE for 2025-26 is $1953.70.  According to the latest Australian Statistician’s report released on 26 February 2026, QOTE will increase by 2.1 per cent to $1994.50 in 2026-27.

The process for notifying the 2026-27 QOTE amount is under way. The Workers’ Compensation and Rehabilitation (QOTE) Notice 2026 will have effect from 1 July 2026 and will be available at www.legislation.qld.gov.au.

Further details are available at Workers’ compensation benefits including QOTE | WorkSafe.qld.gov.au or by contacting wcpolicy@oir.qld.gov.au.
