Defence lawyers statewide can now lodge Registry Committal applications online with the transition to the Queensland Courts and Tribunals Online Services Portal (OSP) now complete.
The rollout began in July 2025 with a pilot in Brisbane, Cairns, and Rockhampton Magistrates Courts.
Over the past 12 months, the rollout was delivered in six stages across Queensland, finishing with the final stage in Gold Coast and Logan on 15 June 2026.
This transition marks a significant improvement in the user experience for legal practitioners and stakeholders.
The move from the Legal Practitioners Portal (LPP) to the OSP has addressed the technical challenges previously reported and delivered a more stable, scalable, and user-friendly platform.
The LPP has now been decommissioned.
How to access the Registry Committal application online:
To access the Registry Committal application on the OSP, legal practitioners must:
- Have set up or create a verified digital identity (e.g. myID or QDI);
- Registered their firm on the OSP – this can be done by any practitioner holding a current practising certificate from the Queensland Law Society;
- Nominate a firm code to enable colleagues to request access to join the firm.
