O’Shea & Partners launches family law practice with senior appointment

Brisbane-based commercial law firm O’Shea & Partners Lawyers has expanded its services with the launch of a dedicated family law practice, appointing experienced family lawyer Jack McMah to lead the new division.

The move reflects a broader trend among commercial firms broadening their capabilities to provide clients with a more comprehensive range of legal services.

Founding partner Tom O’Shea said the addition of family law was a natural progression for the firm as it continues to grow.

“Our team have built a strong reputation in commercial, litigation and property law, and the introduction of family law is a natural extension of the services we already provide,” Mr O’Shea said.

“Family law is an area where clients often require practical, commercially focused advice delivered with empathy.

“We are grateful to have Jack joining to the firm to establish and lead this new practice area.”

Mr McMah has developed a reputation for providing strategic and pragmatic advice in family law matters, with a focus on achieving practical and cost-effective outcomes for clients.

The firm said the new practice would offer advice across the full spectrum of family law matters, including property settlements, parenting disputes, financial agreements and related litigation.

Mr McMah will begin with O’Shea & Partners on 13 July 2026.
