The Queensland Law Reform Commission has released the second paper of its Evidence Law Review.
Background Paper 2: Evidence law by design explores the Commission’s approach to preparing draft legislation that is fair, clear, effective and enduring.
The review of the Evidence Act 1977 (Qld) is examining the strengths and limitations of the state’s evidence framework, opportunities for modernisation, and lessons from jurisdictions that have adopted the Uniform Evidence Law.
The review began in December last year, with a final report and recommendations due in December 2027.
