A ceremonial sitting to farewell His Honour Judge Kevin Lapthorn will be held on Thursday, 27 August.
The ceremonial sitting of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 2) will be held at 4.30pm in Courtroom 7, Level 2, Harry Gibbs Commonwealth Law Courts, 119 North Quay, Brisbane, followed by refreshments.
Judge Lapthorn was appointed in August 2005. Before his judicial career, His Honour was a barrister in private practice in Sydney and Brisbane, specialising in family law and child protection matters.
For those unable to attend, the ceremony will be livestreamed.
