The Planning Amendment Regulation 2026 (Amendment Regulation), which amended the Planning Regulation 2017 (Planning Regulation), came into effect on Friday, 11 September 2026.
The amendments removed the Ministerial Infrastructure Designation and urban design advice referral triggers; expanded the list of Prescribed Water Storage Infrastructure; amended the State Development Assessment Provisions (SDAP); clarified arrangements for solar farms and battery storage facilities; and added transitional provisions.
A new version 3.7 of SDAP was also published on Friday, and applies to all development applications made on or after that day. It includes amendments to State code 11 and the removal of State code 24.
