Trilby Misso Lawyers promotes three to Special Counsel

Trilby Misso Lawyers has announced four promotions across two of its offices in Queensland, including three to Special Counsel.

Gillian McKnight has been elevated from Senior Associate to Special Counsel at the firm’s Springfield office.

Ms McKnight has extensive experience in compensation claims arising from incidents on the road, in the workplace and in public places.

Her work includes complex motor vehicle matters involving serious injuries and long-term impacts.

Alongside her legal expertise and commitment to guiding clients through difficult periods, Ms McKnight is a highly valued mentor who takes great pride in developing the next generation of legal professionals.

Drew Phillips has also been elevated from Senior Associate to Special Counsel, at the firm’s Brisbane office.

Mr Phillips works across workplace injury, motor vehicle accident and public liability claims, with particular experience in serious and complex compensation matters.

His strong interest in litigation is reflected in his strategic preparation, attention to detail and determination to advocate robustly for his clients.

Travis Chambers has also been elevated from Senior Associate to Special Counsel, at the firm’s Brisbane office.

Mr Chambers has broad experience in compensation law, assisting people following incidents at work, on the road and in public places, as well as with institutional abuse claims.

His practice includes complex workplace injury matters involving serious physical injuries and permanent impairment.

Shannon Brown has been elevated from Associate to Senior Associate at the firm’s Brisbane office.

Ms Brown practises in compensation law across Queensland as well as New South Wales Institutional Abuse matters.

Ms Brown’s standing in institutional abuse compensation law has been recognised by Doyle’s Guide for two consecutive years. After being named a Recommended Lawyer in 2025, she was elevated to Leading Lawyer in the 2026 listing of Leading Institutional Abuse Compensation Lawyers (Plaintiff) – Queensland.

Her promotion also marks an impressive journey within the firm, progressing from Junior Legal Assistant to Senior Associate.
