The Downs and South West Queensland Law Association’s CPD event next month will bring together all the elements of a classic whodunnit – in a heritage-listed boutique hotel.

Murder on the Downs over the weekend of 14 and 15 November will be held at Warwick’s The Abbey, where members of the profession, police and academia will present.

The majestic 1891 sandstone building will provide the perfect setting for attendees to follow a matter from the crime scene through initial interactions with the police, engagement with expert witnesses, case management, trial preparation and strategy, the trial process, the use of AI in preparation and research, and the ethical issues raised along the way.

A View from the Bench panel discussion involving Supreme Court Senior Judge Administrator Justice Martin Burns, Court of Appeal Justice John Bond, and District Court judges Vicki Loury KC and Dennis Lynch KC, will cap off the event.

The event is worth 10 CPD points. Buy tickets here.
