Volunteers thanked as search for missing judge enters its fifth day

Members of the legal profession are again assisting in the search for missing Federal Circuit Court judge Guy Andrew.

Police and SES search teams have also been joined by members of the Australian Army as the search enters its fifth day.

Judge Andrew was reported missing on Sunday after his car was found abandoned on Dillon Road in the Brisbane suburb of The Gap.

Bar Association of Queensland President Rebecca Treston QC, in a message to Bar association members yesterday, said that the association wished to express its sincere gratitude to all those volunteers who had assisted in the search.

“The QPS have asked that we pass on their thanks and appreciation for the significant response from the Queensland Bar, in particular, but also from all judges, solicitors and court staff who have given up their time to assist in the search,” Ms Treston said.

“Unfortunately, there has been no breakthrough and no news as yet in relation to the whereabouts of His Honour Judge Andrew.”
