New DFV forms, amendments

The remaining provisions of the Domestic and Family Violence Protection (Combating Coercive Control) and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2023 have been proclaimed to start today, 1 August.

The Act contains the first tranche of legislative amendments made in response to the Women’s Safety and Justice Taskforce’s first Hear Her Voice report.

The new provisions include amendments to the:

  • Criminal Code
  • Domestic and Family Violence Protection Act 2012
  • Evidence Act 1977
  • Penalties and Sentences Act 1992
  • Youth Justice Act 1992

Changes to the Domestic and Family Violence Protection Rules 2014 have also started today, pursuant to the Domestic and Family Violence Protection Amendment Rule 2023.

 The Queensland Courts website has also been updated to include: New and revised DFV forms
