Chief Justice will present equity lecture

Chief Justice Bowskill will present this year’s Queensland Community Foundation (QCF) WA Lee Equity Lecture on 2 November at the Banco Court.

The WA Lee Equity Lecture is held each year in honour of academic and author, Honorary Professor WA “Tony” Lee.

The topic will be The interaction of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander customary law with some aspects of the law of equity – is the view any different through the lens of the Human Rights Act?

QCF Chair Margaret McMurdo will welcome guests to the 24th Annual WA Lee Equity Lecture in partnership with the TC Beirne School of Law at The University of Queensland.

This series of lectures continues a tradition of maintaining contemporary debate on matters of equitable jurisdiction, technique, principle and doctrine both in Australia and beyond.

The lecture will be held in the Banco Court, Supreme Court of Queensland, George Street at 5.30pm.

Tickets are free of charge but registration is essential.
