Career Moves: WGC Lawyers

WGC Lawyers has announced three new promotions in the Cairns team for Ben Meredith, Chloe Moes and Kelly Whitten.


Ben Meredith

Ben Meredith has been promoted to Special Counsel.

One of a collection of previous Toowoomba residents at WGC Lawyers, Ben made the move to Cairns soon after graduating from the University of Southern Queensland with Honours.

Since his admission as a solicitor in 2014, he has provided trusted advice to some of Cairns and Far North Queensland’s largest businesses, who have come to rely on Ben’s ability to break down complex legal and factual problems with timely, understandable, and practical advice.

After joining WGC Lawyers in 2022, Ben’s dynamic skillset, impressive legal mind and strategic approach to practice caused him to quickly become an integral and trusted member of the Building and Construction and Litigation Team.


Chloe Moes

Chloe has been promoted to Senior Associate.

A Cairns local and former graduate of Saint Mary’s Catholic College, Chloe began her legal career in 2015 after completing her law degree at James Cook University Cairns.

Since joining WGC in 2021, Chloe has worked closely with Director Michael Huelin in the Commercial Law Team in assisting clients with a wide range of commercial, business and property development transactions.


Kelly Whitten

Kelly has also been promoted to Senior Associate.

Kelly grew up in a rural community in Southland, New Zealand. After graduating from the University of Otago, she joined a full-service law firm in Dunedin.

Moving to Cairns in 2020, Kelly joined WGC Lawyers and has worked closely with Director Eddy Lago in family law, developing a significant practice of financial and parenting matters.

Kelly is committed to achieving results for her clients in an affordable and timely manner.
