SCLA welcomes new President

The Sunshine Coast Law Association (SCLA) has welcomed a new president after its Annual General Meeting last week.

Mala Heffernan took the reins from Jessica Popple following the September 8 meeting, where the association also welcomed a new executive and committee.

A Director and Principal of L&H Injury Lawyers, Mala has been a committee member for more than a decade, and said she was  “passionate about fostering a supportive network for local legal professionals while also raising much needed funds for community organisations such as the Suncoast Community Legal Service and domestic violence charities”.

Joining her on the SCLA executive is Vice President Callum Lee (Pippa Colman Family Law), Secretary Michelle Close (Lynch Law) and Treasurer Leah King (QIFVLS).

Committee members are Kylie Anderson (Legal Aid Queensland), Jodie Bruce (Jodie Bruce Law), Pippa Colman (Pippa Colman Family Law), Jayana Kerr (Maurice Blackburn Lawyers), Alicia Lucas (Griffiths Parry Lawyers), Emma Middleton (Toomey Family Law), Dhanya Panikkar (MM Law), Jessica Popple (Pippa Colman Family Law), Rozlyn Spring (Axia Litigation Lawyers), Maddison Veivers (Slater & Gordon) and Aiden Warneke (Travis Schultz & Partners).
