More than 80 leading presenters, including The Dynamics Group co-founder Simon Kuestenmacher, will speak at this month’s Queensland Law Society Symposium on 21 March.
This year’s conference features two opening plenary sessions and six tracks of substantive law sessions covering family, succession, criminal, property, personal injuries, and commercial law at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
There is also a new Extension track which covers emerging and generalist topics.
The opening address will be made by the Honourable Justice James Edelman, of the High Court of Australia.
His Honour was appointed to the Court in January 2017. From 2015 until the time of his appointment, he was a judge of the Federal Court of Australia. From 2011 until 2015, he was a judge of the Supreme Court of Western Australia.
Justice Edelman previously practised as a barrister from 2001-2011 in the areas of criminal law and commercial law.
Following His Honour’s address, Simon will discuss The future of law through the demographic lens, exploring how big demographic shifts will impact the law and which industries will dominate the Queensland economy.
Registrations close on Friday, 14 March at 5pm. The conference, which runs from 8.15am-5.30pm, is worth 10 CPD points.
