Gnech and Associates celebrated the recent admission of law clerk Alexander Chay to the Supreme Court of Queensland on 25 August 2025.
Alexander, who completed both his Bachelor of Laws and Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice while working full time with the firm, said he was “honoured” to have Director Calvin Gnech move his admission.
“He has always supported my growth as a criminal law advocate by providing me opportunities, experience and guidance,” Alexander said.
“I am an ardent advocate for a defendant’s right to due process and legal representation. I am passionate that real justice occurs by putting a client’s best case forward and am proud to be assisting in this process.”
The firm said the team looked forward to his future contributions to the profession and Gnech and Associates.

Jo-Anne Furlong | McNamara Law
McNamara Law is proud to announce the admission of Jo-Anne Furlong on 22 September 2025. Jo-Anne’s admission was moved by the Managing Director of McNamara Law, Peter Wilkinson.
Jo-Anne has been with the firm since November 2009 and has practised primarily in family law since 2016. She completed her Bachelor of Laws at the University of Southern Queensland in September 2024, and her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice with the College of Law in May 2025.
As a newly admitted solicitor, Jo-Anne will continue practising exclusively in family law with a focus on expanding her skills in that area.
