Cairns-based property lawyer Joshua Auld has been appointed to the Queensland Law Society Council as the Attorney-General’s nominee.
Joshua is the Legal Practice Director at Harding Property Law, after joining the firm in 2024.
He practises predominantly in commercial and building and construction Litigation, as well as wills and estates. Over the years, Joshua has represented clients in all courts and tribunals across Queensland, as well as matters in the Federal Court.
He served as an Associate to District Court Judge Morzone KC in 2017.
Joshua is also a Queensland Law Society Accredited Mediator and assists clients and other parties with their alternative dispute resolution.
In addition to his usual practice, Joshua also serves as an Ordinary Member of the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal on a sessional basis.
“I was very honoured to have been asked by the Attorney-General to serve on the Queensland Law Society Council as the Attorney-General appointee,” Joshua said
“I am looking forward to serving on council and adding another voice for our regional practitioners.
“The QLS already do a fantastic job when it comes to the services it provides to our regional practitioners, and I hope to be able to contribute to that in my time on council.”
Joshua starts on the council on 13 February 2026 for a two-year term, with the current appointee, Adam Dwyer, retiring on 12 February after one year on council.
