Thynne + Macartney this week welcomed Emily Harvey as a Partner to lead the employment team.
With more than 10 years’ experience, Emily is known for helping employers across all stages of the employment lifecycle, from recruitment, to conduct and performance, and termination. She advises on day-to-day matters as well as business decisions and strategy.

Emily has a strong workplace relations focus and has previously worked at King & Wood Mallesons, and Allens in Melbourne and Brisbane. She has recently had lead roles acting for employers in casual employment underpayments claims, enterprise bargaining disputes and a high-profile sexual harassment case in the Federal Court.
Thynne + Macartney has also expanded its taxation advice offering with the appointment of Special Counsel Danh Nguyen.
Danh Nguyen
Danh has more than 12 years’ legal and tax experience and has worked closely with corporates, high net worth individuals, family offices, property developers, Australian and Asian-based private equity firms, and medium to large businesses, delivering solutions for tax efficiencies, cross-border transactions, capital raising, leveraged buyouts, strategic partnerships and mergers and acquisitions.
Danh, who has previously worked for a top-tier accounting firm and the Australian Taxation Office, helps international clients with their taxation and commercial matters, particularly investments in Australian properties and businesses, or in forming strategic partnerships with Australian enterprises.
