Maroochydore firm Argon Law has welcomed Sophie Paras as a Special Counsel.
Sophie, who was admitted in 2001, became a Partner with another Sunshine Cost firm in 2003, leading its commercial, property and wills and estates section before leaving to join Sunshine Coast Regional Council’s legal services team in 2012.

She conducted Council’s commercial and property transactions, and compulsory acquisitions, as well as providing legal advice on local government issues. These included advising on policy drafting, interpretation of local laws and environmental obligations.
She assisted in the acquisition of land for the new solar farm and environmental reserves (Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve and the Maroochy River Blue Heart Catchment), and in dealings with the new Maroochydore City Centre as well as the commercial leasing of sites and ultimate disposal of the Sunshine Coast Airport.
