Piper Alderman has welcomed Caren Klavsen as a Special Counsel and will promote Lauren Abbott to Senior Associate from 1 July.
Caren joined the Brisbane office last month, working alongside partner Andrew Rankin in the national corporate team.

Caren is an experienced corporate and commercial lawyer advising both public and private companies across a broad range of industries in relation to share and asset acquisitions and disposals, the establishment and operation of joint ventures, strategic investments, corporate restructuring, due diligence investigations, corporate governance and general corporate and business matters. Her experience working in-house within the legal team of two large energy companies has given her an insight into business operations, project management, compliance matters and corporate governance.
Lauren joined the firm in 2018 as a Lawyer (moving to Associate in July 2019) and has been working closely with real estate partner Mark Askin in the national real estate team.

Lauren has extensive experience acting in the sale, acquisition, and leasing of commercial, industrial, retail, and residential properties for a range of clients. Her experience includes off-the-plan developments and settlements, and she also advises clients on due diligence, acquisitions, sales, and leasing in a number of prime, high-profile industrial and commercial facilities across Australia.
