Correctional centres return to Stage 1 restrictions

All Queensland correctional centres and community corrections locations have returned to Stage 1 operations from 6am today.

Mandatory mask wearing by visitors will continue in all centres within the Greater Brisbane area in line with Queensland Health restrictions for this region, specifically at Arthur Gorrie, Borallon, Brisbane, Brisbane Womens, Wolston, Helena Jones, Southern Queensland, Numinbah, Woodford, and the PAH Secure Unit. In all other centres, masks should be worn where social distancing cannot be maintained.

In Stage 1, personal visits to prisoners resume. Restrictions to visiting a centre will still apply for those who have travelled overseas within the past 14 days, if they have visited or travelled through declared hotspots as identified by Queensland Health in the last 14 days, or if they exhibit cold/flu like symptoms. Prisoners are not required to isolate upon reception to a correctional centre, including upon return from any court appearance in Stage 1 (unless advised otherwise by Queensland Health).
