The President of the Australian Law Reform Commission, Justice Sarah Derrington, is to deliver the 22nd WA Lee Lecture in Brisbane’s Banco Court on Thursday 18 November.
The WA Lee Equity Lecture, which is hosted by the Queensland Community Foundation, is held each year in honour of foremost equity and trusts academic and author Honorary Professor WA ‘Tony’ Lee.
Justice Derrington was previously Dean of Law at the University of Queensland and a barrister focusing on maritime and shipping law, general commercial law and arbitration. Her Honour is a leader in international arbitration and maritime law, with research interests in the areas of admiralty jurisdiction and practice, the carriage of goods by sea, and marine insurance.
