The third John Emerson Oration and Charity Law Association of Australia and New Zealand (CLAANZ) Annual Lecture 2022 will be held in Melbourne on 12 December.
The event, which will also be available online, is hosted by the Law Council of Australia’s Charities and Not-for-Profit Committee in conjunction with CLAANZ, and will be delivered by Professor Oonagh Breen of the Sutherland School of Law, University College Dublin.
Professor Breen researches and teaches NGO law, governance and social change, as well as teaching equity and the law of trusts.
The John Emerson Oration honours John Emerson AM, now retired from Herbert Smith Freehills where he was a partner for almost four decades. He is recognised as an expert in the tax laws applicable to charities in Australia.
