Early career family lawyers have the chance to be recognised with a Law Council of Australia (LCA) award.
Applications are open for the 2026 Michael Taussig QC Family Law Award, a $6000 prize which includes cash, tickets, travel and accommodation for the LCA National Family Law Conference, a two-year Family Law Section membership and a digital Winner’s logo.
Eligible applicants must be within four years of admission and hold (or be completing PLT toward) an Australian practising certificate. They must submit a 1500-word article on a family law topic, which will be considered for publication in the LCA’s Australian Family Lawyer publication.
The award is named after a prominent Victorian lawyer in honour of his contribution to family law.
Applications close on 1 July 2026. The award will be presented at the conference in Hobart on 20-23 October. Apply here.
