Clayton Utz has announced two Brisbane-based senior promotions for next year.
Emma Covacevich will commence a three-year term as Chief Executive Partner from 1 July 2023.

Emma focuses on energy and corporate matters, particularly upstream and midstream petroleum projects, and leads the firm’s energy transition offering. She also leads the client relationship and engagement strategy as Deputy Chief Executive – clients and markets. Emma started her career with Clayton Utz in 1999 as an articled clerk in the firm’s Brisbane office.
Emily Tranter has been promoted to Partner, effective 1 January 2023.

Emily is a commercial litigator who advises public and private sector clients across the spectrum of disputes, with a particular focus on complex commercial disputes, public inquiries, regulatory investigations and emerging climate related risks. Emily began her legal career with Clayton Utz in 2007 and has worked in the firm’s Brisbane and Sydney offices.
