Celebrating new admissions

Shearer Doyle Law was pleased to celebrate the admission of Elija Acuna on Monday, 13 November.

Elija started working full time with the family law firm in January 2022 while he was still completing his law degree.   

He then completed his Practical Legal Training course at the Queensland University of Technology, still while working full time.

Director Elizabeth Shearer said: “Elija is a hard-working and committed legal professional. He has demonstrated a great ability to establish rapport with our clients which is very important in a small, people-based firm. 

“Elija is a valued member of our small team and we are delighted that he continuing with our firm post admission.” 

Helix Legal

Nicole Vermaas earned her Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from Griffith University and gained admission to the Supreme Court on Monday, 13 November 2023.

In early 2023, she joined Helix as a law graduate, contributing her skills across various matters.

As she transitions into the next phase of her professional journey as a lawyer, Nicole has been actively involved in supporting the Helix project and procurement team.

A dedicated member of Helix, Nicole consistently exceeds expectations in her role. She eagerly anticipates further engagement with the diverse services offered by Helix, aiming to enhance her skills as a young professional.

McNamara Law

The team at McNamara Law is pleased to announce the recent admission of Joshua Ryan. 


Joshua Ryan

Joshua has been working at the firm since 2019 while he was studying at University of Queensland where he has graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting). 

While completing his degrees and PLT, Joshua worked closely with the personal injury team. He has since started working in the commercial team working mostly in the areas of criminal and dispute resolution.
