Career Moves: Ramsden Lawyers

Ramsden Lawyers has promoted Jesse Clough to Associate and welcomed two new lawyers Guy Magee (family law) and Rebecca Cohen (Evolve Legal personal injury division).


Jesse Clough

Jesse completed his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) at Bond University and was admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland and High Court of Australia in 2021.

He has been a part of the Ramsden Lawyers commercial litigation team since January 2023. Before this, Jesse worked for a Brisbane-based national law firm where he acted predominantly in insurance litigation.

Since joining Ramsden Lawyers, Jesse has assisted on various matters within the commercial litigation team.


Guy Magee

Guy was admitted to practice law in the Supreme Court of Queensland in February 2022. He has a professional and comprehensive understanding of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia. Transitioning from a career as an electrician, Guy discovered his passion for law and in 2020 secured a full-time role as a Client Service Officer and Court Officer for all five Justices of the Family Court of Australia. The following year (2021/2022) Guy served as a Legal Associate to a Justice of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 1).

In this pivotal role, Guy actively participated in numerous trials, interim hearings and direction hearings, establishing his communication skills, patience, and meticulous attention to detail.

Guy has future aspirations of becoming a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner and accredited mediator. Beyond his professional life, Guy spends quality time with his family and indulges in his passion for sports, particularly rugby league and tennis.


Rebecca Cohen

Rebecca achieved her Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the Queensland University of Technology in 2021. Following this, she pursued her Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the College of Law, successfully completing it in 2022. In March 2023, she was admitted to practice as a solicitor in the Supreme Court of Queensland.

With four years of experience at a leading national personal injury law firm, Rebecca possesses an experienced background in personal injuries litigation. Throughout her career, she has represented plaintiffs in a diverse array of personal injury cases, encompassing areas such as CTP, public liability, workers’ compensation, and institutional abuse claims.
