John brings more than a decade of international experience in plaintiff litigation, specialising in high-value personal injury cases, including those related to traffic accidents, public liability, sports and workplace incidents.

Managing Partner Travis Schultz said: “We are thrilled to have him join the team as we continue to strengthen our presence in Brisbane.”

Before joining TSP, John served as a barrister and accredited mediator. John’s expertise extends to various areas of sports law, including governance and compliance, and the liability of clubs and volunteers, and he holds a Law Society Diploma in Sports Law.

TSP Partner Tim McClymont said: “John has a passion for sports and as a former intercounty Gaelic footballer in Ireland, he has a natural drive and competitive edge which ensures he gets the best outcome for his clients.”

John said he was “honoured to be part of a firm that is renowned for its commitment to justice and community and well-being”.

“In an era where the bottom line often dictates business decisions, the firm stands apart by ensuring clients receive the ‘lion’s share’ of any settlement – that’s predominately what attracted me to joining the firm,” he said.

“In addition, the firm’s strategic stance on cases typically overlooked by others in the legal fraternity underlines the commitment to justice for all, not just the most profitable or straightforward cases.”
