Brisbane Magistrates Court (BMC) court users can now start or progress their civil matters by using the new QCase portal.
The new civil case management system came online for the BMC on Monday, 8 April. Release dates for other Magistrates Courts locations are being finalised.
Filed documents related to existing BMC civil matters (that were managed as paper files) will incrementally transition into QCase in priority order, beginning with those matters that are listed for hearing in the short term.
If a replacement copy of a document for an existing case is required, contact the BMC registry for assistance. All new documents for a case produced from 8 April are accessible on demand via QCase, and it is recommended that you use this function to retrieve sealed copies of your documents.
The QCase portal can be accessed from the Queensland Courts QCase webpage.
When visiting QCase for the first time, new users are required to login with either their myGovID or QGov account to prove their ‘digital identity’.
It is recommended to use a professional/business email address and details when setting up an account.
Law firms and other companies/entities may decide to register their firm and nominate an administrator to manage their staff and cases using the Firm Administration function.
QCase has been developed with user experience in mind. The quickest way to get support is to use the real-time, guided support “help tool” by clicking the blue “?” icon.
There is also comprehensive QCase Frequently Asked Questions, and further QCase information and helpful tips on the QCase webpage.
