Two personal injury lawyers have joined together to establish L&H Injury Lawyers on the Sunshine Coast.
Mala Heffernan and Fiona Leddy have more than 30 years of experience between them and have spent their careers working in plaintiff personal injury law, predominantly at large national firms.
Mala and Fiona were driven to work in personal injury law by a desire to help people and make a real difference in their lives.
With their experience and shared values, they made the big decision to start afresh and build their own firm.
They considered the changing landscape of the legal industry with remote working and technological advancements, and decided to make the most of the opportunity for micro firms to open and seriously compete with the long-standing firms in their area of practice.
Fiona said she had observed clients were increasingly turning away from the big firms and seeking a personal approach and value for money from an experienced lawyer.
“Supporting our clients when they are often facing one of the most difficult challenges in their life is the reason why I love this job so much. Mala and I feel that we can truly achieve this at L&H Injury Lawyers,” Fiona said.
Mala said her experience in management roles in large national firms had provided her with the tools she needs to succeed in running her own firm.
“I am very grateful for the opportunities afforded to me in my previous roles. I have been given the chance to develop my skills not just as a lawyer, but in key areas of leadership, business development and financial management and this has really given me a leg up when starting our own firm,” she said.
Mala is also active in the local legal community through her role as a committee member of the Sunshine Coast Law Association for more than 10 years.
