Chief Judge Devereaux issued a Practice Direction on Friday to better manage sexual offence proceedings in the District Court.
Practice Direction 3 of 2024 – Sexual Violence case Management, which will commence on 2 September, should be read in conjunction with its accompanying Information Notice.
To support practitioners in preparing for implementation, the Court is holding information sessions in the Banco Court, Brisbane on 15 and 20 August, from 4.30pm to 6.30pm; and at Ipswich Courthouse, on 27 August, from 4.30pm to 6.30pm.
All criminal practitioners are encouraged to attend in person or via live link.
